WTAC | Car displays, Show Girls & Bikes

There was a lot to look at on the World Time Attack Challenge weekend! Behind the pits was all manor of displays including the HKS stall with its famous ct230r, a huge variety of parts on display in different tents, and let’s not forget the promo girls!

The HKS promo girls were certainly popular amongst the guys; I think I must have come back with about 5 more HKS stickers than I needed. Nathan McKenna certainly agrees.

I was very happy to see Nigel’s Hilux project up close as well as meet him in person. I have always known him to be an incredibly cool guy. When introducing myself I felt very welcome for him to immediately recognize me. Check out everything Nigel has been up to http://engineeredtoslide.com/

One of the great things about WTAC is the variety of parts you can buy for insanely cheap prices. I was so tempted to come home packing with goodies for my S13 and the Corolla, but I had neither the luggage space nor the money.

There was also a cool display of modified bikes near the show cars. I can’t say bikes like this are my sorta thing, but I can definitely appreciate the time and effort that has been put in to create something cool.

All of the drift cars were lined up in the area behind the pits. It was awesome to walk through the pits and be able to speak to each of the drivers.

A lot of drivers were jumping at the chance of a photo op with the girls as they walked by.

Nigel had his own Engineered To Slide stall setup with his Hilux and S13 sitting out the front. For a long time I have been watching the progress of Both Nigel’s silver two-tone S13 coupe and his 180sx. They honestly have got to be the coolest pair of S13′s any man in Australia owns.

The things this man can do when it comes to alloy is simply a work of art.

The interior isn’t far off it too with twin BRIDE fixed backs and matching door cards.

His Hilux is a whole another thing entirely. This thing has been built completely from scratch to suit an S15 chassis.

I cannot wait to see this thing in action; I know it’s going to blow a few minds.

To finish up an awesome weekend, I caught up with Alexi from Nori Yaro who my girlfriend and I hung out with for a while when we stayed in Japan. It was really cool to catch him at an event in Australia when I had no idea he was going.

That’s it from the Displays from the weekend! Be sure to check out the rest of my shots from the weekend!

  1. I basically learned about virtually all of this, but that being said, I still assumed it was helpful. Beautiful post!
