Tandems!

Filmed and Edited: Cooper Macmillan Edited: Courtney McColgan

I know this post is slightly overdue, but the short track series ended with some spectacular driving that can’t go unmentioned. The drivers were out in full force with plenty of amazing entries and extremely close tandems. This series has been one of the best so far in Queensland for the drifting scene, and I definitely hope for it to pick up again.   The atmosphere at these events is super friendly and of course with Mez M.C.ing, the night was even better. Flynn Dowling didn’t participate in the tandems as he had, somewhat unwillingly, entered the competition side, rendering him unable to join in on the tandem fun, but he did very well in the comp…

Hardtuned.net ANZAC Day Bash

Hardtuned.net celebrated Remembrance Day in 2012 by hiring out the Holden Performance Driving Center and holding a private track day. After all, the men and women who we honor on this day fought and died for the freedoms that we have today. With a live DJ spinning out tracks, BBQ sizzling out the back and a large crowd of cars eager to hit the black top in time attack, hot laps and skid pans, the mood was set for fun. The clouds offered a cool day for both drivers and their vehicles, which made the whole thing just that little more comfortable.

RC Night at Nerang

Last week I caught up with Josh Dobrik to check out the RC drift cars he has been playing with. There has been plenty of talk about these things lately which I think is great. Yes, they are money down the drain that could be better spent on our cars, but we all need something to occupy ourselves for those times when our cars are not working. If you silently thought in your head while reading this “my car doesn’t break”, you aren’t pushing it hard enough. That or you own a Toyota.

20th July QR Morning Session

A couple of weeks back I took the opportunity to catch a ride up to Queensland Raceway with my good mate Karl in his R32 to watch the action at the latest QR morning session. I prefer watching and driving at these events because it’s got that great relaxed atmosphere that always brings out more adventurous driving styles. Not to mention the coolest types of cars always turn up to this.

WTAC | Spectator Cars at Superlap

Being such a Japanese and Drift orientated weekend, there were definitely some amazing cars parked around the track to take note of. A great example is this Team Sugoi S15 I spotted in the car park behind corner 5. The Work Meisters go perfectly with the tidy body that only has rear pods, skirts and a clean front bar.
