After Hours At Queensland Raceway 24 Hour Drift Matsuri

It is a rare occasion at Queensland Raceway, particularly as a driver, on any given event to be strolling around the paddock several hours after the event has stopped. Let alone several hours before the gates even open. The Queensland Raceway 24 hour drift Matsuri was one such occasion that allowed me to bring you the photos you see before you.

Continuing on with our coverage of Queensland’s first ever 24-hour drift Matsuri.
Queensland Raceway 24 Hour Drift Matsuri

The first Queensland Raceway 24 hour drift Matsuri has just wrapped up this weekend, and what a weekend it was! Originally the event was planned to be a 24 hour straight event starting at midday on Saturday and winding up at midday on Sunday. Due to some complications they had to change this so it was a total of 24 hours over two days. Considering the last minute change, they pulled it off pretty damn well!
Post QR Matsuri Carnage

24 hours of drifting certainly puts the pressure on each and every car in attendance of the Queensland Raceway drift Matsuri. As you will see over the coming days, there were few people lucky enough to not have to work on their cars over the weekend to ensure they had a running car the entire time.
For myself I was lucky to not come away with anything terminal, but my clutch has definitely seen better days. I pulled this out of the car yesterday afternoon after it had got to the point of being able to start the car in gear with no movement. I’ll be getting a brand new one very soon and will have the car ready to go asap!

Teaser! | Queensland Raceway 24 Hour Drift Matsuri

Wow! What an amazing weekend! The Queensland Raceway 24 hour drift Matsuri was a fantastic event. There were some amazing cars to watch at the event, but the most amazing thing to watch were the people working overnight to ensure they had a functional drift car in the morning. Unfortunately for myself, I was having clutch problems all weekend and it finally decided to let go about 10am this morning. Having just finished pulling the clutch out now, I can safely say there is no coming back for it. Luckily though, it meant that I was able to troll around and get some great photos for you guys to see!
Check back soon coverage of the entire weekend from Josh and Myself!
