Queensland Raceway Short Track Series | Round 2 | Part 1

It’s been incredibly refreshing shooting the last couple of rounds of the Queensland Raceway Short Track Series, and I am already pumped to shoot the next one. There has been some amazing action across both rounds so far that has seen plenty of drivers really push their cars past the limits, which is really what we want to see!

Three of my favorite drivers from the night were again Tayno and Danny T who we saw ripping up the track during Round 1, but also Mitchy who was throwing around his R33 next to these boys all night.

Possibly some of the best driving seen during the event was from Nick Coulson, who up until this night looked to still be finding his feet in his new chunky VE Commodore. The driving he displayed on Friday night left little doubt that he really knows how to throw this car around.

The man himself.

As most of you know the Commodore took a hit into the wall on the night, but hopefully we can see it back out in time for the next Round where I’m sure Nick will be again be showing his skill behind the wheel.

Mez from Wreck’ Em was out on the mic again all night. It’s awesome to see a mate mc’ing an event who really knows how to keen to crowd on its toes.

Walking past the Freeworks stand, the guys looked a little lonely while all the action was out on the track.

The lineup of cars that we keep seeing come out of JDM Garage continues to impress me. This R34 was having a few battery issues early in the night so everyone was scrambling to get it out onto the track.

The thing looked immaculate though with a very glittery red, blue neons and LED taillights.

Buckna was on form all night; dishing out lessons on keeping it real to other drivers. When you have owls, rockets and cats graffed on your car you make your own rules.

I’ve yet to really stop and have a good look at the car so I might have to hit Buckna up for a feature sometime soon.

It’s very cool to see he’s repping us as well!

TJ, the winner of Round 1, was out on track only briefly to try and diagnose an engine issue that was making the car miss terribly. It’s a shame we didn’t see the car out for the rest of the night.

Aaron Jones improves his driving style every time I see him at the track. This R33 has always just poured smoke out of the corners, but it’s great to see some really awesome entries happening.

As mentioned, one of the best drivers of the night has to go to Danny T in his 1J powered S13.

The car just seems so incredibly well balanced that it just glides through the corners at max smoke and angle.

In the pack these guys were really impressing the crowds. I didn’t see much of Morgan driving his S14 on the night, but when I did I was impressed!

I’ll leave you guys with a photo of Mitchy pulling out an amazing entry into the first turn. I cannot get over how close to the wall he is here, have a look at the shadow the car is casting on the wall!
I have many more photos for you guys, so make sure you check Excitement! Car Magazine tomorrow for Part 2!
