Queensland Raceway Short Track Series | Round 1

Round 1 of the Queensland Raceway Short Track series took off just this Friday night with some awesome displays of driving. Stupidly low and loud cars trying to narrowly scrape between a wall and a traffic cone, while sideways and in third gear; how can you not win?

Some amazing cars have been hitting the track only recently and one of them to mention is Buckna’s tagged up R33. Seriously have a close look at this car next time you see it. See how many cartoon animals you can name on it.

The night was MC’d by Mix Master Mez from Wreck ‘Em. As I said to him in person I didn’t want it to go all to his head, but he’s one of the most interesting people I have heard as a commentator at a drift event.

In my opinion the best action of the night was from this lovely group of people; Tayno, Danny Thompson, Flynn Dowling and of course Mereki Dawson who was literally on fire for half the night!

Danny Thompson the man with one of the lowest S13′s around. While it has always been a style that many people have embraced, s13 silvias with 15′s has really become a popular thing lately.

Flynn’s Onevia has to be one of the coolest cars I have seen grace the grounds of Queensland Raceway.

Like any event, the collection of loud cars, youths and burnt rubber did not go unnoticed. Even on a race track.

Todd Waldon; a man we have not been hearing much of lately burst back onto the scene with his new S13 creation and took the event home!

You might remember Todd Waldon’s previous S13 which is now currently owned by Ender Esenyel, ironically looking more like Todd’s current car.

I thought I would leave you with an interior shot of Mereki’s ke70. Great sticker. I want one!
