Queensland Raceway Winter Morning Session | Josh Dobrik

When it comes to seeing the most exciting drift cars in South-East Queensland at one single gathering it’s hard to look past a Queensland Raceway morning session. You need only take one look at perfectly crafted cars like Dylan Salmond’s freshly built s13.4 to spot why there is clearly no exception.

For most of the drivers in attendance to this type of event, style is as necessary as performance. The perfect benchmark is this S15 from JDM Garage which offers plenty of sparkle.

If you’ve followed our posts on the Short Track Series, then one man who should be no stranger to you all is Danny T. From his first lap out, Danny was pulling some pretty big lines and no sign of lifting in the process.

Last morning session this particular s13 looked like your local Japanese missile. A fresh coat of paint and a new front bar later, you’d hardly recognise it from last time.

Not only does it look the part, but the driving certainly matches with some impressive munjis.

For as long as I can remember, Shiny Dave has been always been a pleasure to watch and 100% on his game.

You may know of him from his trademark gangster hand signals mid drift.

Stephan’s white on white s14 was just one of many fine Zenki S14s out on the track.

The JPP 180sx is a seriously well-built machine, especially to handle and perform like it does with 500hp under the bonnet.

One car I couldn’t keep my eyes off was this hot pink r33; not because it was the trendiest of cars but the consistency of the driver throughout the track. I mean, look at that angle coming into turn 3.

One particular driver that that is no stranger to morning sessions and certainly not to drifting is Paul Dean, who is seen here exiting out of the dipper with a ball of smoke behind him.

Every time I attend a Queensland Raceway morning session the mount of awesome drivers and stunning cars just gets better and better. These events are simply awesome and there is no other way to explain it. The next morning session at Queensland Raceway is coming up this Thursday on July the 5th, so make sure you get your arses out there!
