Queensland Raceway Short Track Series | Round 3 | Part 2

Straight back into the coverage of Round 3 of the Queensland Raceway Short Track Series! Flynn Dowling, the owner of this rather amazing Onevia, was on form all night. In my opinion one of the best looking cars in Queensland at the moment. It’s rolling proof that even though setup of a drift car is important, you can still slamm it down hard for maximum style and drive better than everyone else.

Case in point: here is Flynn seriously putting the heat on Danny Kenneally in the Hog’s Breath Silvia ute.

When it came to Flynn leading however there was nothing but room between the two cars. Well done Flynn!

There were some seriously tight battles between Flynn and TJ. Seeing these two cars side by side on track is a serious treat!

I was very glad to see TJ’s car was back out smoking it up after some dramas at the last round. I still cannot decide whether I prefer TJ’s previous s13 or this s13 which is slightly more subtly styled.

So many people were out with cameras to take photos of their favorite cars as well, even if it was just the humble iPhone people were psyched to take shots.

Rob Whyte was putting in a solid effort all night showing that it wasn’t just the grass roots guys that get near the wall. I took photos run after run of him getting exactly this close to the wall.

This still has to be one of the most awesome yet out there sounding drift cars in Queensland as well. It’s hard to describe without making chewbacca noises, so if you haven’t seen this in action get your arse out to an event soon!

Of course one of the biggest reasons for the success of this event I think had to come down to Mez’s MC’ing of the event. This dude keeps the crowd pumped all the time. Giveaways, competitions and Mexican waves… You name it; he got the crowd doing it.

I’m sure it wasn’t too hard to keep the crowd pumped when you had action like Danny T and Morgan Dowling drifting around each other in circles.

Eventually however, the night had to come to a stop to present the winners for the night and for the series.

Mez kept the crowd warmed up while the drivers were announced. To see the full list of winners, check out Part 1 of our coverage.

At the end of the night there were a few fatalities like the JDM Garage 34 that I saw being pushed back to its trailer.

Sadly also Buckna’s R33 was down and out. It probably just over fueled being a dirty Nissan and all. I cannot wait to see this thing in action again though!
Lastly I’d like to thank the guys Neil and Steve from Queensland Raceway for supplying us with such an awesome event! These guys would love to know any constructive criticism you may have about the events. Any way that they can improve it for you guys, they would love to hear it! Feel free to mention it on here or our Facebook and we will let them know!
