Morgan Dowling | Short Track Series | Round 3

On May 18th we battled the freezing cold to watch some of the tightest battles and wall running action Brisbane had to offer at round 3 of the Queensland Raceway Short Track Series. This 3 part series organized by Wreck ‘Em and Sponsored by Etnies Australia saw some of the coolest looking drift cars in South-East Queensland hit the tarmac; one such car being a very low S14 driven by none other than Morgan Dowling.

As soon as I walked through the gates I immediately spotted Morgans Zenki s14 on Yokohama Advan model 5’s and Tanyos Kouki on the world renowned TE37s.

My favorite part of the evening was watching Morgan join Tanyo, Danny and Mereki and their quad tandems in-between the battles throughout the night.

Mereki’s supercharged ke70 got a little left behind in the some of the entries but made up for it with his super close tandems.

As each car came blazing along the wall my camera was super glued to Morgan’s s14; that B&N sports kit really pushes all the right buttons.

Baking the rears when you’re running -5 camber doesn’t come easy! Morgan found himself going through tires like all hell, if you look at the right hand rear you’ll see the belt sparking.

Like I mentioned before Mereki and his super light ke70 was very quick to catch Morgan on the 2nd wall.

Despite still being on belts Morgan was also not afraid to get up close and personal with fellow s14 driver Tanyo! Morgan is just one great example of drivers in South-East Queensland that prove that drifting comprises equally of styling and driving ability. I can guarantee you’ll be seeing much more of Morgan’s S14 in the future!
