John Dollisson’s MA61 Supra Build

It wasn’t long ago since I caught up with John Dollisson and Brett Mattingley to see how the MA61 makeover was going.

I’m sure you’ll recognize Johns Supra or his Gorgeous SSR Mk1′s from this photo, he’s been everywhere with this silver beauty.

For the Duration of my stay Both John and Brett wore working on the front end of the Supra; which involved cutting, shaping and welding the pipes into the rad support to allow intercooler piping to pass through. You may also notice the seam welded strut towers in the background.

John took care of cutting and shaping the necessary pieces.

Then Brett took over and welded the pieces in, which always makes for some cool images!

John picked the Kinugawa TD06-20g as it’s a proven turbo; included in trust 1jz single turbo kits for many years now and has been receiving good reviews as a ‘cheaper’ turbo.

The Supra will also be equipped with a new 50mm waste gate and 90mm throttle body.

Barney the guard dog was a bit suspicious of me snooping around with my camera the whole time. After a simply ear scratch and tummy rub I’m pretty sure we’re best friends now.

My snooping around the house hold garage led me to see this bride seat rail and Hawaii plates hanging on the wall, I have a sneaking suspicion you might see these on the Supra once it’s back on the road. This won’t be the last time we’ll be seeing Johns MA61 I’ll be checking in shortly to bring the latest progress.
