I’ll Let It Slide – Sez Rogers

In the short time that I have been going to Archerfield for drifting I’ve seen some pretty talented drivers getting around the tight track that was originally intended for go karts. Sarah “Sez” Rogers is one that stands out from the crowd with skills that exceed quite a few of her male peers. In her bright pink S13 Silvia, Sez is carving her way up the field and putting her foot down on the comments that women can’t drive. Maybe she has trouble parallel parking or getting it straight at a shopping center, but ones things for sure, she’ll whip you’re ass when it comes to taking corners. Sez took some time out from a session to have a chat to me about her aggressive style.

“I’ve been drifting for two years now. I started off at Parklands at Raceline’s drift school and I guess just got hooked on it.”

Sez’s slider was picked up from a mate of hers after she started taking drift a little more serious and needed a car that was a little better set up for the job at hand.

“I’d had various cars prior to the S13, both an R32 and R33 skyline, but I just needed something that was ready to go. So sold the Skyline and bought the S13. We had it painted in candy pink with a touch of purple by Imagine Colour and then just added a few extra goodies to help it out on the track”

“Pinky” as the car is known, is running a forged RB25 with the 50mm externally gated 35R turbo sitting on top of a 6 Boost manifold. With a tune run on it byPerformance Injection Tuning Services (PITS) on the Gold coast, Sez’s ride is churning out a healthy 380hp at the treads by way of the Kazz 2 way dif. HSD coilovers have been installed to help out through the corners.

“My plan is to attend as many sessions as time and money permits so I can keep learning and improve. I would like to try and get some sponsors on board to make it a little easier on the hip, which mean I’ll be able to make it to even more events over the next 12 months.”

So where would you like to go with this? “Eventually, I want to end up with the pros. That would be awesome!”

Sez will be hitting the track at Queensland Raceway on the 8th of March for good old sideways action, so if you haven’t seen “Pinky” in action yet, that would be a good time to get out and see some real girls gone wild.
