The Lowdown Presents Showcased In Sydney

Words and Pictures: Josh Dobrik Edited: Grant Scott
Running for just over two years now, The-LOWDOWN.com wanted to lift things off the ground with their first big event, Showcased, which attracted audiences from all over Australia. Of course, when the boys from Streekarnage caught wind of this event they knew they had to be there to cause some trouble.
Who’s Getting an 86?

My good friend Matt Sheather spotted this this 86 as it rolled in on a trailer to his work and was very kind to send us through these two photos. While we knew they were in Aus, it looks like they have well and truly got them ready for production!
Car Feature | Ant’s k11 Micra

For the past few months I have been popping in to Option1 for bits and pieces to fix my little Miata. In that time I have always found myself staring at Anthony’s funky 1995 Micra.
Anthony’s k11 Micra

Here’s a quick look at Anthony’s k11 Micra, we’ll be making a small spotlight on this cool little daily shortly!

Daily Cube

On my way to work last week I spotted this funky Cube on a set of BBS RS’s. I do recall seeing some images of this Cube from JDMST meets but never seen it in the flesh. Luckily enough I had my Leica mini by my side to get a shot.
Jayrad’s GS300

Not much has been going on this week, so to make it up to you guys here’s a photo of Jayrad’s rather sacked GS300 Lexus. Hopefully a photo to come some time soon if he ever has time for it.

Melbourne lamborghini

Of all the rare cars in the world that I have seen I would not say that a Lamborghini Gallardo is one that I typically leap over fences for. They are an impressive car, yes, but there is something about them that lacks when you compare it to the big brother Murcielago. With that said, they are still a sight to see. Especially when you happen to spot one floating on top of Arthurs Seat in Victoria like I did a few weeks back.
Back From Melbourne

Apologies for the lack of content this week guys. I have just got back today from shooting a wedding in Melbourne which has had me fairly occupied for this entire week. I didn’t get much time to do any car related shoots, but I did manage to spy out a few very cool cars floating around the area. Possibly my favorite of all was this; a 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302.
I would very dearly love to do a photo shoot on one of these, so if you’re lucky enough to be rolling around in one of these things, drop me a line at grant@excitementcarmagazine.com
We have a few exciting things coming up for you in the next couple of weeks. Firstly the Streetkarnage slider meet is on this Sunday which I will be attending. There is also a Downshift Gymkhana happening the week after. On top of that I have a few photos of a new Ae86 project that a mate is working on. So sit tight!
So, who wants to see this photo as a wallpaper? Let me know!

Spotted | Low Cadillac De Ville

I spotted this amazing Cadillac on the ride to work yesterday morning and managed to quickly snap a shot of it going by. I just couldn’t get over how low this amazing cruiser was. I noticed too that there is a website to hire this car and other like it for events; www.caddydaddy.com.au.
Hopefully I can convince the owner to allow me to feature the car.

Excitement! Car Magazine | 2011 Wrap Up

Having only been in operation for half of the year, 2011 has been an incredible year for all of us at Excitement! Car Magazine!
In a very short time we have gained some very significant contributors who have been invaluable towards the success of the magazine. However, one of the greatest things that has helped us to point the magazine in the correct direction has been the feedback from you guys; the readers. We love to hear constructive criticism about the site so be sure to keep letting us know what you like and especially what you don’t like!
Birds eye view on the Gold Coast

The end of the year is approaching fast and there is plenty going on. Most of Brisbane’s graduating students this past week have made their way down to the Gold Coast to celebrate what is the end of 12 long years of schooling.
Guess What! Drift Battle is Back!

After so many years of being away Drift Battle is back and it’s looking pretty damn good! A post like this may seem very unorthodox for someone in my position, but I am very happy to be seeing this magazine back on the shelves of my local newsagent. The thing that I always remembered fondly about Drift Battle was the consistency of quality in each Issue. I still remember drooling over all the cars at the BM drift event at Nakayama Circuit which was published in the fifth issue.
Porsche Spotting

On the drive back from Locky’s Short Track event at Queensland Raceway on Sunday Nathan and I spotted quite a few worked Porsche 911′s cruising down the highway. This one had to be hands down the most wild and I was even more impressed that it was driving on the road!
If I could ever afford to, something like this would be one of the few things I would happily sell up the Corolla for. If anyone is involved in the Porsche tuning scene please let me know as I would love to feature something like this as well as attend some track days!
