I have been getting plenty of people asking me when the next slider session is going to kick off, and I hear ya! I’m keen to get back out and ride these things too!
Good news is I have been talking with the boys at Streetkarnage , and while we haven’t got anything planned yet we will be looking at doing something soon. So sit tight!
For now, if anyone has any suggestions on spots, feel free to hit us up!
Some very casual photos for you guys today of a small slider session we had this Sunday. Having not been out with my slider for over a month I couldn’t wait to get on the three-wheeled rig to dodge the rain, gutters and some very ill-placed storm drains.
So aside from the unfortunate circumstances towards the end of the day, who enjoyed the Streetkarnage and Excitment! Car Magazine Slider session? I’m incredibly proud to see so many people turn up to the event, and I’m especially impressed how well behaved everyone was. We are looking forward to bringing you guys another one of these events, but obviously we have to re-think locations and event organisation.
It was 18/3/2012 4:30PM Sunday, as I have arrived to the mysterious location in Advancetown which looked like in the middle of nowhere with no inhabitants. Just a few empty streets and 2 houses in the process of being build; a perfect place for everyone’s sliders to come out and play as well as have a bit of a get together.
Well while the Streetkarnage and Excitement! Car Magazine slider session really didn’t go to plan, we still had some fun. We got some decent photos coming to you guys in the next few days, many of which are thanks to James Dean of James Dean Photography.
Once again, I’m very sorry for anyone that received a fine on the afternoon. I assure you I copped the worst of it by being stranded there until well after dark. The fact that my car has been defected off the road has never been what I have been upset about, the fact that the police deliberately cornered us to defect our cars while we were doing something as nonthreatening as sliding tricycles is what really pisses me off. Believe me when I say I will not lay back and take it, especially when that is what we are expected to do.
I would like to ask anyone that has thought about revenge or wrecking havoc due to all this to not give them the satisfaction. It won’t solve anything, and it will only justify their reasoning behind all this.
Don’t forget guys! It’s this Sunday!!
See you all there!
So we have just recently found a new spot to take our sliders to and are very happy to announce we will be organizing a session in the future in conjunction with Streetkarnage!
Michael Harris from SK will have a flyer for you guys with all the details in the next couple of days so be ready!
Early this week several mates and myself who were very eager to test out our newly purchased huffy sliders decided to check out a spot we have been eying up for some time. This week has been fairly slider heavy on Excitement! Car Magazine, but they are just so damn fun. I thought it might be worth mentioning too that we are bringing the SK guys here for a test ride this afternoon, if all goes well we will be doing a joint Excitement! Car Magazine meet and Streetkarnage meet in coming weeks!
Once again the lads from Streetkarnage grouped together on a lazy Sunday afternoon for an awesome huffy slider session. Even though this session didn’t seem to last as long as the first one, the attendance was just as large!
Well… It was bound to happen sooner or later with all the slider sessions that have been happening lately; I am now the proud owner of a very cool huffy slider! With many thanks to Aerron Gough from Streetkarnage! Today’s slider session was just as amazing as the previous event from several weeks ago.
This time armed with my trusty GoPro I managed to get some fairly awesome footage of all these guys powering down the hills as well as some in car (on slider) footage of me going down the hill. Hold tight for the full set of images from the day as well as all the footage in the next week or so!
Here’s the collection of our final images from Streetkarnage Slider Session that was held on the Gold Coast.
Sometimes the most amazing things in life are so simple. It amazes me that as people that spend so much time, money and agony on high performance cars we can gain so much fun out of something as basic a tricycle with plastic wheels on the back. If you haven’t seen these things before, you’re in for a treat because huffy sliders are an insane amount of fun.
Oh, and did I mention that A Current Affair doesn’t like them? So you will LOVE them!
