This past weekend I attended round four of the Stadium Drift Australia series, held at Carnell Raceway in Stanthorpe. The event was full of epic battles, tones of close calls and plenty of paint trading, all of which we’ve come to expect from the boys who compete in this series.
Excitement! Car Magazine | Some BIG Changes!
As many of you guys will know, our goal here at Excitement! Car Magazine has been to bring you interesting daily content from automotive scenes around Australia and the World. Considering what we have is a very small team I am proud to say since we officially opened on October 7, 2011 we have succeeded in that.
While we would love to continue doing this we feel that the more interesting articles that we post (for example car features, track days & events) are being diluted by filler posts throughout the week that may not be as captivating.
We have decided that from now on we will regularly post every Friday at 7pm.
We will be reducing how often we post in an effort to ensure that every article will be of the highest quality!
Last time we received feedback from you guys we heard many more grassroots car features, builds and events.
We definitely plan to keep doing that, but we need your feedback again this time!
If you see only one post from us each week, what do you want to see?
We definitely want your constructive criticism as well! We need to know what works for you guys and what doesn’t.
So let us know whether you like the changes over the next few weeks, as well as what we can be doing to improve in the future!

Keen to Become a Contributor?
We are always looking for more contributors for Excitement! Car Magazine, so if you have ever thought about becoming one let us know!
While we ultimately feel the most important thing for our contributors is to be passionate about what they shoot, we do have some minimum requirements:
– You must have a good understanding of the photographic practice and are regularly shooting car events and features.
– You must be well written with a good understanding of sentence structure and grammar.
– We need people that can confidently supply content on a regular basis.
– You must have a decent understanding of WordPress.

Mercury Motorsport Dyno Day
We all love fast cars and sexy babes so here’s some photos I took earlier in April just before the cold weather started creeping up Mercury motorsport had a Dyno day, sausage sizzle and Bikini car wash.
Josh Dobrik’s MX5
For us photographers, sometimes taking photos of the sport we love just is not enough. Much like our contributor Josh Dobrik, more often then not we can’t wait to get out there and give it a go ourselves. Josh took took it to the Pan recently to learn to drift in his own Mazda MX-5. The skidpan being one of the best places to learn the art form that is drifting; No Police, no traffic and best of all no tire usage!
Interview on Torque Radio Oz
I was very privileged earlier this week to be a guest on Torque Radio for a segment called Drift Torque. Simon Mercer and Dan Rasell are the hosts of the show and during the segment they interview drifters both Nationally and Internationally. The whole experience was unreal as I had never been on any form of radio before, but it was great to talk all things past, present and future to do with my drifting life and Excitement! Car Magazine.
Stadium Drift Round 1
If you have missed the first round of stadium drift at Queensland raceway I will fill you in with this post. What most people will remember that day is that it was darn hot that day but they did have grins at the end of the day even if they were peeling like a snake and were red as a tomato.

We have some ideas for improving the magazine as a website but we want to hear your input as well. While we have been proud to say that we have posted content every single day up until this point, it is starting to make more sense to have better quality content over less days. We are also planning to improve the site of the site so the size quality of the images you will be seeing will be much better

Teaser | Streetkarnage & Excitement! Car Magazine Slider Session
Well while the Streetkarnage and Excitement! Car Magazine slider session really didn’t go to plan, we still had some fun. We got some decent photos coming to you guys in the next few days, many of which are thanks to James Dean of James Dean Photography.
Once again, I’m very sorry for anyone that received a fine on the afternoon. I assure you I copped the worst of it by being stranded there until well after dark. The fact that my car has been defected off the road has never been what I have been upset about, the fact that the police deliberately cornered us to defect our cars while we were doing something as nonthreatening as sliding tricycles is what really pisses me off. Believe me when I say I will not lay back and take it, especially when that is what we are expected to do.
I would like to ask anyone that has thought about revenge or wrecking havoc due to all this to not give them the satisfaction. It won’t solve anything, and it will only justify their reasoning behind all this.

The Daily Game
It’s funny how those of us who toil with track specific cars still insist on owning fun daily drivers. It’s like a disease that we can’t seem to shake. Despite the many years of owning my Corolla it has always been a must for me to own a daily that can make me grin from ear to ear. Even my last daily; an automatic MX73 Cressida with, get this, working air con had its kicks. Sounds boring right? Wrong. That grin still came from the chassis rails almost kissing the ground at a mere 25mm.

Over the last few weeks, Tim Lince, a journalist for Influencing.com.au has been interviewing me to discuss a feature of Excitement! Car Magazine. Influencing.com.au is a website that covers the latest Australia media and publishing news. They also feature for a large audience of PR professionals and fellow journalists. Several days ago I was very excited to be informed by Tim that the article has now been published.
Check out the article, and spread the word. I’m very proud to have this sort of recognition for Excitement! Car Magazine. The magazine would not be where it is today without the help of all of my contributors; Josh, Courtney, Henry, Sean, Nathan, Scott and Kory.

All Corolla Shoot
A good friend of mine, Ryan Beall has come up with a pretty amazing idea just this week. We have a pretty huge range of diversity when it comes to ke70′s in Australia; Corollas with worked N/A 4a’s, 4agte’s, 4agze’s, 3sgte’s, 1uz’s, 13b’s, Sr20det’s… I have even seen a Camry v6 placed into a Corolla chassis. The list goes on. It would be pretty amazing to organize a photo shoot some time soon in South-East QLD to show all our readers this diversity.
What do you guys think, and are there any very out there ke70/ae71′s that you would like to nominate for the meet?
The shoot will be invite only to maximize the diversity of the cars, but lets have a big discussion on Facebook so we can work this out!

It’s Quiet….
It’s that time of year where there isn’t much going on in the automotive world. Not many track days are organized around this time and everyone is still firmly gripping their wallets after Christmas. The plus side means though that there is ample time for doing those extra little bit of work on your track car that you either haven’t had time for or have just been too lazy. For myself lately, the latter has been my main cause. However there are a few things I want to get done on the Corolla while I still have the time.
What I want to know is; what have you got done over this time? What sort of improvements has your favorite toy received in the last two months?

THE EXCITEMENT! CAR MAGAZINE | 2012 Street Meet
First of all, thank you to everyone that turned up for our first Excitement! Car Magazine Street Meet! I was very happy with the turn out, and despite the events on the day I hope you guys are looking forward to the next one. As I’m sure most of you know, or can gather, the weather was less than perfect on the day. Terrible in fact. Not to mention a certain Woolworths manager that put in their best efforts to ensure we felt most unwelcome. All things aside, I was very proud with how the meet went and am now scheming how we can do things better next time.

Thank you to everyone that came out to the first Excitement! Car Magazine Street Meet! Considering the amount of people that turned up I am very happy to call it a great success. Unfortunately the weather was more than average and a manager of woolworths was less than accommodating but it was great to meet up with all you guys. I will be sure to put a lot more thought into the next venue so we have a hassle free meet and hopefully some much more interesting stuff to do.
I have a bunch of photos from the afternoon that I will put up in the next day or two, but for now here is a teaser.

Excitement! Car Magazine | 2012 Street Meet is on TOMORROW!!
Hey guys, the Excitement! Car Magazine | 2012 Street is on TOMORROW (Sunday the 15th of January).
We will be meeting on Lakeside Drive in Carrara, right near Emerald Lakes, at 2.30pm! There is no plan for the afternoon guys, come along and hang out, chat, bring the footy, some drinks and come buy some stickers for $1 each!
