What a weekend at the first round of ADGP at Symmons Plains Raceway 2012. What seemed to be a horrible morning with all the rain, turned out to be an exciting and intense day with Luke Fink taking another round win. Even with engine troubles Luke still managed to pull though with some wild angles, including a reverse entry in his solo qualifying lap.
Dan Rasell has been absolutely killing it throughout 2011 and we will be watching him very closely through all of 2012. We are definitely looking forward to seeing what else he can pull out of his hat. For now, have a wallpaper of him practically reversing his car into the dipper at QR.

Having only been in operation for half of the year, 2011 has been an incredible year for all of us at Excitement! Car Magazine!
In a very short time we have gained some very significant contributors who have been invaluable towards the success of the magazine. However, one of the greatest things that has helped us to point the magazine in the correct direction has been the feedback from you guys; the readers. We love to hear constructive criticism about the site so be sure to keep letting us know what you like and especially what you don’t like!
2011 has been a very successful year for Luke Fink. With the first ever Australian Drifting Grand Prix being held this year the competition was absolutely obliterated with Luke winning three out of three rounds. Scott Mitchell has been there for each round and has just recently compiled the best of his footage together for an end of year wrap up.
Make sure you check it out and turn it up nice and loud!
This year I have been fortunate enough to attend all rounds of the ADGP and Track Battle Time Attack series. At every event, the presence of drifters has heavily outweighed that of the ‘time attackers’. Recently however, at the final round of the series in Perth, the time attack field was strong, with one contender in particular arising as the crowd favourite for the whole event, and for myself personally, the entire series. With that in mind, let’s take a safari around Gareth Simpson’s zebra Evo.
I have received an awesome contribution from Round 3 of the Australian Drifting GP at Barbagallo by Jonathon Barnes. He has managed to get some stellar shots and has also written in with his overview of the action, so I will pass it over to him!
Jonathon Barnes: With the final event of the Australian Drifting GP held in Western Australia, it was by far the longest leg for many of the top drivers to attend from interstate. The local boys were indeed red hot favorites with the big names making a big impact during practice and qualifying.
Most of the cars throughout the event were very impressive to look at both on and off the track. But when it came to the competition side there was some close door to door action which is what every spectator likes to see, along with people pushing the limits and trying to do what is well known from Luke, getting close to the other competitor; Mitchell Bunney.
I have just found out about the Automotive Photography Awards tonight and have decided to re-tweak this image of Luke Fink that I took at the recent Round 2 of the Australian Drifting GP. The image will hopefully be up in a day or two, so check it out and wish me luck!
Have a look in the gallery to check out all the other entrants: http://automotivephotographyawards.com/gallery/
Luke Fink is a very well known name in the drifting and BMX world. From the Red Bull World Drifting Championship to JDM All Stars as well as his domination across the drifting scene in Australia.
I recently caught up with Luke to chat to him about what he has been up to over the last few years as well as take a bit of a look into his day to day life in 2011.

With horrendous weather across most of South-East Queensland on Saturday there seemed little hope of sunshine for the Australian Drifting GP comp day on Sunday. Despite all odds the sun rose on Sunday morning with barely a cloud in the sky. There was plenty of smoke though!
The winner Luke Fink from the first round of ADGP in Calder Park was back to prove he had what it takes to take the 2nd win of the series right here at Queensland Raceway.
Our newest contributor Scott Mitchell has been very busy and despite already being well over 800k’s away has got a teaser for Sunday’s ADGP Round 2! There already looks to be some brilliant footage in there. I certainly cannot wait to see the finished product, I’m sure you guys feel the same way!
It’s a busy week here at Excitement! Car Magazine, we have a large amount of content to bring you from the Australian Drifting GP from just this weekend as well as much much more. For now I’ll leave you with a photo of the man who kept the crowd on their toes the entire weeekend; Dan Rasell!
I’m very excited to announce we will be having new contributions from videographer Scott Mitchell!! We will be featuring his footage from today’s Australian Drifting GP in the next few days, but for now check out the quality of his footage from the Australian Drifting GP Round 1 at Calder Park!
What an Amazing day of drifting at the Australian Drifting GP at Queensland Raceway! A huge congratulations goes to Luke Fink in the Holfords S14 being the round winner for the second time in a row!
I’d like to give a very special mention to Dan Rasell who was doing amazing entries all day and constantly pleasing the crowd. Josh and I will have all the content from the entire weekend coming up very soon!
