7Tune x Zen Garage WTAC Party

The most amazing thing about traveling interstate for different events is the people you meet. While all the action for World Time Attack Challenge at Sydney Motorsport Park was happening across the Friday and Saturday, the good lads at Zen Garage and 7Tune decided there would be no better way to spend their Thursday night than meeting up with like-minded people from across the world. Drivers, tuners, photographers and of course all round enthusiasts lined the walls of Zen Garage in Sydney.

The night kicked off with us meeting up with our lead contributor, Courtney McColgan, who promptly showed us the way to Zen Garage while driving a very fast EVO VII. With that said, the Barina hire car did a pretty good job at keeping up. This was the first time that we actually met Courtney in person as well! Oh, the miracles of modern technology.

Being from out of town, it was great to immediately spot some familiar faces such as Matyas Fulop from Downshiftaus.com. These guys have been capturing some stellar content all weekend, so make sure you check them out!

One of the first things to notice when entering Zen Garage was Tessa Whyte’s Mercury Motorsport R34 on display. These guys had traveled all the way down from QLD just like us. Considering we just hopped on a plane, where these guys actually brought several cars down to Sydney for the weekend, I’d say that’s a fairly impressive effort.

For those that don’t know much about Zen Garage, it has a massive online retail presence. A small selection of what they sell was on display for all to see during the party.

There was also a bit of a racing simulator setup going on during the night. What better way to entertain a bunch of car enthusiasts all night!

Just looking around the workshop brought on some amazing findings. The beautiful thing about Zen Garage is that it is somewhere in between an art gallery and a workshop. Many of you I’m sure would ask how that would work, but I’m telling you now, it does, and it works bloody well!

Our senior photographer, Josh Dobrik, had the night off and decided to have a good time. I think we all needed a good night out before the two very busy days that were ahead of us.

It was great to meet up with these two guys; the Luke H’s! It was a pleasure to hang with both Luke Hobbs from Drifted.com and Luke Huxham from Maiham-Media during the WTAC action on Friday and Saturday.

One of the things Zen Garage should be very well known for are the Automotive Photography Awards, which they hosted this year. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to snap one of my photos while actually in Zen Garage.

The person responsible for it all was this man here, Justin Fox. Justin is one of the most influential members of the Australian modified car scene and has been doing some great things for all of us enthusiasts. How nice of Scott Mitchell to jump in for this photo as well.

The 7Tune x Zen Garage WTAC Party was simply a precursor to the amazing weekend that was about to be had. All of us here at Excitement! Car Magazine met many new friends in Sydney and we cannot wait to get our arses back down to catch up with them all again soon! E!CM
